شهد سجن أميون حال تمرد تطوّرت إلى احتجاز سجناء لعنصرين من القوى الأمنية كرهائن، مع تهديدات بإشعال حريق داخل السجن.
وعلى الأثر، تدخلت قوة كبيرة من فرقة التدخل السريع لمحاولة فتح أبواب السجن والسيطرة على الوضع كما طلب من الدفاع المدني الجهوز لاي طارئ وحتى الساعة، لم تُعرف الأسباب التي دفعت السجناء إلى التمرد.
